This page is for those that are to far away to visit in person.(visitors always welcome).. These photos are of our house , our yards, the dog running yards I have two .25 acre yards of grass fenced in and then the house yards (front and back) also are used by the dogs as well... The pens are close to the house and can be seen by just looking out the window. AT any givien time I have between 7 and 11 dogs at my house. and the dogs are in the house all dogs spend at least half the week in the house( my dogs are house dogs as well and are in the house more then the pens they" Rotate".I have 5 outside runs and five indoor outdoor runs that are attached to the shop which is attached to the house... I have ten runs in total at any given time are about 50%of the runs are full of dogs. I rotate the dogs from the yards to the pens to the house several times in any given day.. The old dogs just are free to wander in and out and are no longer kenneled at all ...Neighbors and visitors often compair the" business" of the rotation of the dogs in and out as a constant circus and it does keep you busy but it is fun :) We are a very active house with three to five dogs in the house most of the time. The house was built for dogs the entire bottom floor is wood and tile - no carpet and a welping room and crateing room will be seen in the photo's as well...You will see shots of the front and the backs of the runs. Some are hard to see because of the heavy tree's and bushes.. Yes you have alot more work weed eating and the like but the dogs enjoy and need the plants and it can make a run 30 degrees cooler in the summer as the light colored gravel seems to collect heat.... I am a believer of trees and bushes for shade as no dog should have to sit out in a shadless run during the day or a kennel exposed to all of the elements in the winter bushes and tree's are for the comfort of the dogs . The reasoning that kennel inspectors use that tree's and bushes clutter things up and brings uncleanyness is rediculus. My kennels are inspected and appoved with out violation by the state of iowa I have had no violation or fine from the very first inspection... My state number or animal welfare license is 0004866-00... this is not a federal liscense that puppy mills get this actually is a much harder breeding liscense to get...
Many breeders use the "lack of money" issue for the conditions of their kennels and home. Keeping a clean kennel or home has nothing to do with money, but your ambition to take care of yourselves , your family and your dogs... Very few of my pens are high dollar wire and cement , but they are reguarly cleaned and repairs are made when needed.
letter from recent visitors:
I wanted to thank you for showing me your lovely dogs last Sunday. They?re everything I expected & more. Long lived, healthy dogs with brains, beauty, charm & world class temperaments! It doesn?t get much better. I liked all of your dogs but I was smitten with Cody. His personality, looks & attitude just grabbed me. He?s as close to perfect as they come, IMO. I?d really like to aim for a pup of his type in both disposition & appearance. I?m really in no hurry. Marcia, the nurse who works where I do, was equally taken with Indy. I was glad she was so favorably impressed, but not surprised. From talking with her, I was convinced that your dogs offer what she wants in a GSD. She is soooo excited, I think it might be contagious! I?ll have another check in the mail with in a day or 2. I know you aren?t worried about it, but I like getting payment underway. I have no doubts about wanting one of your pups & I?m happy to be making payments. & again, thanks so much!
